E-Commerce & Customer Service Lead

Position Summary:
The E-Commerce & Customer Service Lead provides customer service support to all Old Major Market operations including retail, outdoor markets, wholesale, and e-commerce. Customer service support includes identifying ways to continuously improve the Old Major customer experience as well as directly interfacing with customers, resolving customer problems, and selling product when possible.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Answers phones and handles customer inquiries, requests, etc., or directs the caller to the best resource and ensures a connection is made.
  • Responds to customer emails including answering product questions, order inquiries or resolving customer issues as needed.
  • Generates online reports to support delivery drivers and the Thursday product/meal pick up programs.
  • Responsible for Thursday evening dinner program, including working with Production Manager to pack dinners and prepare for pickup in a manner that does not impede other kitchen production.
  • Works with Operations Lead to ensure all additional product purchases for Thursday pickup have been picked and packed and transported to the kitchen for customer pick-up with dinner.
  • Works mid-week farmers markets in the summer and other special events as needed.
  • Works directly with General Manager in maintaining the web store which includes but is not limited to standardizing product descriptions, photos, and ensure the site reflects current product availability.
  • Works with GM to identify and add new products to the website, brainstorm product bundles, etc.
  • Manages shipping program including fulfillment and logistics, and interfaces with carriers as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma and one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a customer service and logistics focused environment required. B.S. degree in communications, social services, business or logistics preferred.

Preferred Skills
Must be skilled in Web site management, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media, plus use of email and knowledge of standard office procedures.

Growth opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who engages with the mission of the organization. Needs to be a self-starter and a problem solver. Advanced web skills and a technical background are a plus!

Thursday Haul Driver

Position Summary:
The Thursday Haul driver will be responsible for hauling products to Cincinnati Market Wagon Hub, and ensuring all products are placed in corresponding order totes.

  • Safely drive drive product to the Market Wagon Hub in Cincinnati hub.
  • Place all product in corresponding MW order tote
  • Follow all best practices (provided by OM) for Market Wagon

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age, have reliable transportation large enough to haul 2-3 coolers. Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of customer service experience. Must have smart phone or other GPS device to help you get to Hub. Must have clean driving record, and be able to pass a background check.

Additional Notes

Position pays by the hour plus miles and gas.


Farmers Market Protein Evangelist

Position Summary:
The Farmers Market Protein Evangelist is responsible for interacting with customers and selling Old Major product at area Farmers Markets.

  • Sell Old Major Products
  • Set up and tear down farmers market booth
  • Interact with prospective customers in a friendly and engaging manner
  • Answer questions regarding Old Major products
  • Utilize Square to process all sales

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age. Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of customer service or sales experience. Must have smart phone to run the Square register app and pair with a bluetooth card reader.

Preferred Skills

Proficient using smartphone and smartphone apps, able to make and count change.

Additional Notes

Needs to be a people person able and willing to talk to new people and share the good news about Old Major products. Position is for Saturday mornings. We prefer candidates be able to work 3 or more Saturdays a month, however we do have flexibility in scheduling.
