Martin Ray is a well known name in the Napa Valley. Martin Ray, himself, began making wine in the Santa Cruz mountains in the 40s. The winery has since evolved, grown and migrated norther to Sonoma County. They make wines featuring fruit from Sonoma AND Napa. This Martin Ray Cabernet is a straightforward napa cabernet with dark fruit on the nose, slight spice, and almost a dusty earth characteristic. On the palate, the wine has some grip from the tannin of the grape, great fruit flavors travel across the palate and some earth comes through as well. There is medium acidity that makes the ripe fruit pop! This wine is an entry-level Napa Cab.
